Morning! Have been reading other people’s blogs this morning. There are many very interesting ones out there, like this one: How to Save the World
I can still remember the first time I used the World Wide Web, and how I used a magazine called Geekgirl to find my first URLs. (Geekgirl used to be a print publication, it looks like it’s now online only and I haven’t read it for years!) The first time I heard about Google was in Library school. I was using Alta Vista (back then it had that annoying URL) to look for something, and a fellow student said, “Hey, have you heard of this new search engine? It’s called Google and it’s quite good…”
Email and the WWW – 10 years ago I had never used either! And now, blogs, RSS, podcasting, instant messaging… how things have changed. I wonder what will happen in the next 10 years?
5am wake up went well this morning. It wasn’t as cold as predicted, and I felt quite energetic despite having woken up at 3am (went back to sleep happy that I had 2 more hours in the warmth of the bed), and again at 4am. Then at 4:30am a man walked past the house laughing, three very distinct ha ha ha‘s. I wonder what he had to laugh about at that time of the morning!
