Three days without writing? That’s the longest it’s been since I started this blog! I wish I could say I’ve been neglecting this blog because
- I’ve been focussing on putting all my books on LibraryThing. I haven’t. Since the first obsession I have calmed down a bit and have just been doing a few books here and there whenever the mood strikes me. To date I have catalogued 1432 of our books, and I estimate that there are still some 1,000 – 1,500 books to go. It’s going to take a while at the rate I’m going. It amuses me that our collection is in the list of 25 Largest Libraries on the site, though…
- I have been doing a lot of ‘professional’ reading. I haven’t. I have a pile of books in my study that are waiting for me to look at them: Writing for Scholarly Publication, Blog: Understanding the Information Reformation that’s Changing Your World, Reading and the Reference Librarian… That’s just three of them. There are about fourteen books languishing on the table.
- M and I have been reviving our busy social schedule. We haven’t. I don’t think we could kid ourselves that we have ever had a busy social schedule – even if we did go to R and G’s for the most divine osso bucco and risotto last night, and we did watch Serenity last week, and my cousin had a baby – no, I am no social butterfly and have always been able to balance friends and family with everything else.
I think it’s time for me to come clean. I wouldn’t be so busy if I wasn’t so busy playing that DAMN game. World of Warcraft.
