Strange flower

The flower lasted only a couple of days, and, although I had the presence of mind to record its existence with the camera, I didn’t even think of checking if it had a smell! I’m guessing that it didn’t have a strong scent, because I have a strong sense of smell, and I would probably have noticed something.
When I first got this cactus a couple of years ago, it was a short squat specimen. It’s slowly getting longer and longer, despite my lack of care. This was the first time it’s ever bloomed. I wonder if it will bloom again, and what I can do to help it along next time…
