Podcasting real lives

I haven’t listened to that many podcasts, but recently I’ve been listening to the MrBrown Show from Singapore and really enjoying the I am Singaporean series. I love listening to the Singaporean voices and accents – so similar to the Malaysian – and listening to people talk about their lives and aspirations.

This morning I found that Rambling Librarian has recorded his own contribution to the series! Click on the pink play button to listen to Ivan’s voice. Thanks for sharing this, Ivan. I like knowing what you sound like!

You can hear what I sound like, too, but my podcasts are far more mundane than Ivan’s: like preparing for exams, for instance. I always say I could never do a podcast but somehow I managed to not think about it too much and did it anyway… and not one, but two! (I’m starting think that this saying will sum up my year.)

HI CW,
Thanks for the pointer to the “Rambling Librarian” I enjoyed his podcast on the 8 c’s, it gave me a small window into Singaporean life. TB-)

Hey CW,

I think you have a career in voice overs if the librarian thing ever gets tired… You have a lovely speaking voice (as opposed to hearing voices of course).

Bring on the podcasting 🙂

Pleasure, tb-)! I love it when I find little gems like that out there 🙂

Matt, thanks for saying so but I don’t think so, somehow.. unless someone wants to pay me? 😉

You’ve got a really nice radio voice. Now I can ‘hear’ your posts in your voice. Haha! More podcasts please.

Hello CW, I like the idea of saying ‘I could never do…’ and then doing it – twice! Maybe we’ll start podcasting too – I’ll let you know if we do.

JL that’s the first time I’ve ever heard that about my voice! I think I’m too amused to be properly flattered, but thanks 🙂

Looking forward to hearing from you Alison! Some of my colleagues will be talking about our podcasting experience at Click06 in September – why don’t you come down under and we can play? 🙂

So THAT’s how you sound like, CW 🙂 You know, I never imagined you had an aussie accent but I should’ve known. I can still detect that underlying familiar Malaysian/ Singaporean tone. You sound like one Aussie chef on TV… Kylie Kwong (Wong?) Yup, nice radio voice, like what the previous commenters wrote.

Actually Ivan I can ‘pass’ – sound more or less Aussie or more or less Malaysian when I need to 🙂 If I did a personal podcast I wonder what I would sound like. Maybe do it in Malay just to be different 😉
