Wikipedia fever

More on the not one, but two, front: I started a Wikipedia entry on the late Reg Bolton this week, which piqued my interest in contributing more, so I finished translating an article on a Balinese king, Anak Agung Pandji Tisna, that had been marked as needing work. It was very satisfying! I blame credit my colleague MR for pushing me to do it! 🙂

Next, I think I might just have to expand the article on the author Putu Wijaya (there’s an Indonesian language Wikipedia article that can be translated). And then there’s the article on the Malaysian Sasterawan Negara (National Laureate) A. Samad Said… or the novelist Usman Awang… or Keris Mas… or maybe I could start an article on the Sasterawan Negara award. Not much information on the award itself seems to be available online; I might have to consult books for more!

What have I started?? Anyone else contribute to Wikipedia?

Yes…I have added to Wikipedia 3 times.

Once to correct the spelling of autism (autisssm) in an articles on Asperger’s Syndrome.

Once to comment on the “Domain Hacks” entry that bubl@bath.ac.uk might be considered a very early domain hack.

And once, a couple of days ago when I noticed an incoming link to my blog entry on Reg Bolton’s life celebration. Someone had written it, but not included a reference to the account of his funeral at this blog. Omission fixed. 🙂

Once upon a time I wrote up the seed articles on Hutt River Province, the Rhodes scholarship program, and Huon of Bordeaux, which have all since been evolved into very grown-up looking things 🙂
