Those cat pictures

I’m in the strange situation of having about three blog posts percolating in my head, with none in a publishable state right now, so I thought I’d comment on these strange, funny and almost scary cat pictures that have been doing the rounds.

I mean, who started it?? Whose cats are they? (You never get any information about the creators of these pictures when you receive them – I suppose that’s not the point.)

Monorail Cat actually reminds me of Baubles the Cat, who back in the day when she was young and agile and had stir-crazy fits sometimes used to run up doors and end up stuck on top for a while before she got the courage to jump down. Pity I don’t have any pictures of her doing that, though…

This one makes me giggle. Did they photoshop the kitten’s ears??

What did we ever do with ourselves before the Internet? We wouldn’t have spent hours creating and sending these pictures, looking at them, laughing at them, blogging them…

These are cute, especially the kitten. Do you check in on the Word Detective blog, by Evan Morris? It often has great cat pictures. Just wanted to ask you how you are going without a feline in the house.

Hi Sheena, thanks for the tip – I’ll go take a look πŸ™‚

The house feels quite empty without a feline presence. However, on the plus side, there seem to be a lot of birds in the back yard these days (something to do with the fact that I can feed them without worrying about them getting jumped on, I think)…

Nope the second photo isn’t photoshopped – it’s called “Scottish Fold”. πŸ™‚

Fair enough if it’s a Scottish Fold, Mooiness, it’s just that I didn’t think Scottish Fold cats were that common, but if you look at these cat photos you’d think the majority of cats owned as pets are Scottish Folds.. πŸ™‚

Perhaps Scottish Fold cats lend themselves better to goofy pictures and thus it is these that get sent it more often?

you’re too logical, Mooiness πŸ˜‰

LOL! Cute pics. What’s that library supplier who has Scottish Folds as their marketing identity… starts with B but I can’t remember them off hand.

I have no idea, Penny! [ponders] B… hmmm…
