“Would you like some chicken with that?”

Most amusing thing this week? I attended a two-day management course this week, and asked for vegan meals. On the first day of the course I ate lots of salad and fruit for lunch – perfect. On the second day of the course the waiter told me they actually had a hot meal for me. She pulled out an plate labelled “vegan” from the hotbox, and peeled open the foil, to reveal… two grilled chicken breasts! She was mortified and apologised profusely. I didn’t mind particularly as they had also provided a wrap filled with vegies for me, which was quite enough for lunch.

I’ve been asking for vegan meals whenever I can, and mostly have been pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the food I am offered.

Oh dear! It’s amazing how many vegetarian friends of mine have been offered chicken or fish. True – some of them do have fish occasionally but you can’t make that assumption. 🙂

I recently had a bbq and provided stay chicken for one of my friends who is allergic to read meat. Unfortunately I had forgotten one of my other friends is allergic to peanuts. Fortunately there was no contamination.

We live and learn 🙂

It’s funny how some people consider chicken or fish to be vegetarian…

Steve I didn’t know it was possible to be allergic to red meat! What happens when your friend eats it?
