I’m thankful for:
- the open window and the cool breeze coming through it.
- my study. It’s great to have a room of one’s own.
- the smell of eucalypt oil. In the heat the scent of the gum trees sometimes wafts. I’ll usually be engrossed in something else, and because it’s unexpected it always makes me pause and inhale more deeply. To me it’s the quintessential smell of Perth because it was the first, and wonderfully distinct, odour I smelled when we stepped off the plane on arrival in Australia.
- my diary. Am really enjoying the daily reflection I get when I scribble in my diary.
- quiet time. I need it regularly and often, to recharge.

I will return, I am preparing for the pool 🙂 but I am thankful for your quiet and evocative reflection, as always. Most calming.
My thanks for this week are:
1. that the weather in Brisbane is not horrendous as in Adelaide & Melbourne
2. that even if it was, we have air con at home and I would hibernate, so I am thankful for that
3. that my manager lets me work quite independtly
4. that I am not too sore after yesterdays pilates class
5. that I have an opportunity to meet CW in a few weeks, I am really enjoying reading your blog and following you on Twitter
Thanks, and thanks Rachel, am looking forward to meeting too 🙂
