This morning’s inspiration

If you’ve been reading this blog this month, you might have gathered that I like (Western) classical music. Most mornings I listen to ABC Classic FM. This morning I particularly enjoyed a choral work by the Australian composer, Peter Sculthorpe. I believe the piece was Morning Song For The Christ Child, performed by the Adelaide Chamber Singers, conducted by Christie Anderson. It was the inspiration for this morning’s drawing.

I enjoyed drawing it but boy all the shading took a while.

On another note, I’m always slightly amused at how much I enjoy music with religious themes, given that I am not religious at all. I mean, my favourite composer is J.S. Bach. I try not to analyse it too much; I can’t be the only atheist who loves Bach’s church cantatas.
