The year seems to have whizzed past and here we are again at the start of another June.
This year we seem to have started off with a bit of a plan, thanks to Kathryn who’s pulled it altogether (and remarkably, started blogging a day ahead!).
I see that Kathryn suggests just choosing one question/topic to blog – the idea being that you blog at least once this month – but I guess there really is nothing to stop you using the list of questions to blog every single day this month, if you want to. I suppose it’s much less pressure to just commit to writing one post this month. Lovely to see a couple of people have already signed up!
Anyway. I lay in bed too long this morning and now it’s time to get started on the day’s work so I’ll kick off my #blogjune with a picture. My drawings were a bit of a focus of last year’s #blogjune, and I might share a few drawings here this month too. I stopped posting on Instagram back in November ’21 because a) my little dog Peppi died and one of the major subjects for that account was gone and b) I found myself drawing for the sake of posting and I really wanted to stop myself getting into that headspace. (I’m glad I stopped myself. I might have lost the joy of drawing.)
I’m not sure if I’ve learned or practiced any new drawing skills since last June, although I think my drawing has continued to evolve. I might have to go through my sketch books for evidence of evolution – watch this space.
I also realise that I haven’t updated the ‘About Me’ page since I revamped this blog last year. I suspect 90% of the readers of this blog will be my dear library friends from across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, but it’s possible that one or two Instagram and Twitter friends may make their way over so I might have to get organised and decide what to write to describe myself. Always a challenging task.

Good to see that #blogjune is around again from both K’s post yesterday and yours today. I haven’t done it or even the shorter #blog12daysxmas for a few years. I do still blog on my food blog and a bit on Tumblr but a lot of the focuses of my previous efforts were related to my professional life. Something to think about today. But I had a bad start to the day with NBN done from early this morning. However, this comment could become the basis for a post.
We seem to “meet” here every year. Thanks for the comment and I do completely get it if people aren’t into the whole rigmarole. It’s quite a commitment 🙂
I love seeing your drawings!
Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to reading your posts too 🙂
Lovely, Con.
A prompt like #blogjune might even get me writing on Tumblr. I’ll see.
I am very sorry to hear about Peppi. It’s a while since I’ve visited you, sorry.
Thanks, Genevieve. Yes, it was very hard to lose Peppi. I miss her every day.
Hope you do manage a post or two this month…
I’ve looked at what you and Kathryn have set up, Con. I won’t join properly as my subject matter will be quite different from your circle. For me, the emphasis will be on my own writing prompts – as I joke to my husband that I am the Quality and Safeguards control officer in my home at present, running Kevin’s home program and his NDIS life.
But it’s nice to have a jog back into blog writing (I’ll be using the blog attached to this comment) and to reflect on where the online life is going. One of my posts will definitely be on the Twitter-Musk business – what would I do without Twitter, etc. You’re most welcome to have a look and a chat when you have time. And I’ll be checking in here to see your posts of course. Thanks, G. XX
And wow, I’ve just been looking at your posts from last year. Your drawings!! What a great thing to follow in writing and posting. I’m up to 20/6 going backwards, looking forward (heh) to reading the others later on 🥰
Thanks for stopping by, G 🙂
Thanks to you and Kathryn for the prompt! I’m actually looking forward to getting into it, and perhaps reconnecting with you all online. 🙂
Thanks for playing, Andrew, and I look forward to reading your posts! 🙂
