I didn’t get out of bed until 7:45am today! So what, you might be thinking. Well, the terms of The Experiment include:
1.getting up at a set time every day (in my case it’s been 5am)
2.getting up at the same time for 30 days in a row so as to get into the habit
3.getting up as soon as the alarm goes off (no lolling about in bed)
We went out to dinner with my cousin A and her husband C last night. (I had osso bucco, perfect for a cold winter’s night.) After dinner we all came back to our place where we sat around and chatted and Baubles the Cat performed for everyone. They left after midnight, so I didn’t get to sleep until around 1am. I was completely exhausted by then, and realised there was no way I was going to be able to get up at the usual time so I set the alarm for 7am. I did wake up at 5:34am (glanced at the clock) but went back to sleep again immediately and did not wake up until the alarm went off at 7am. Instead of following rule 3 I made the mistake of just lying there so that it got progressively more difficult to get up. I finally got up because I thought of all the laundry that needed doing, and how much I dislike getting up late on the weekends (all that time wasted in bed!).
Ah well. It’s not the end of the world. I can try again tomorrow.

Oh no! Ah, well, these things happen. I, too, had a late-ish one last night, i.e. post-midnight (most unusual for me), as a result i slept in also, ’til around quarter past seven. Better luck tomorrow.
Yep. And anyway, it was very nice and warm in bed 🙂 Baubles was lying on my legs and purring.
