Accept what people offer. Drink their milkshakes. Take their love. *

It was 1.2 degrees at 5am, yet another cold morning. I am quite awake this morning, but it would have been so nice to keep lying in the warm bed. Baubles the Cat got up with me and went and had a drink, then went back to bed. Smart cat.

(Baubles didn’t drink from the bath this morning, this picture is just me playing with my new Flickr Pro account – yes, I gave in and bought a paid account yesterday.)

Was just reading blisspix’s post on blogging and her general rule “I don’t blog about work”. Thinking about this blog, I’d have to say the same thing. I have really tried to stay away from posting about specific work-related happenings at work, because that would be a real mine field. I have mentioned things that have happened at work, but only in general terms, like the RSS and blogs presentation (of which I have done FOUR now, they have been so popular). Mind you I did have my wee rant about feeling unvalued…

I don’t know if this is a librarian’s blog, in the sense that I haven’t really been writing about Issues in Librarian World like some librarians do. They do it so eloquently, I think I should leave it to them. This is more a blog about Issues in CW’s World, I think. It’s a librarian’s blog, in the sense that I am a librarian…

I haven’t actually shown anyone at work this blog, although I know a couple of people at work do read it. (I think M told them about it!) I don’t really know what’s stopping me from mentioning it. I have actually created a blog that I use for work purposes, and which I think some people at work do read (because I sent them the URL). It makes me laugh when I think that I am maintaining two blogs at the moment!

I still think of this blog as an experiment, and I never imagined anyone but me would look at it. When I started, I didn’t have any aims beyond playing with Blogger and checking out various blogging tools. Then I realised blogging was a good way to give myself time (and a reason) to write. And it’s fun!

Why do you blog? Or if you don’t, why not?

*I had no title in mind this morning. This title is from my spam poetry collection, chosen for its amusement value. I didn’t point it out, but yesterday’s title was spam poetry too. What’s happening to me??!

yes – never ever blog about work. A programmer at Friendster was fired when she commented about how much better the system was after a code change. WTF, right? But RSS is benign enough as a subject. 🙂

Why do I blog? I love seeing my own words, getting comments and oh yeah – working out the frustrations one gets from being single. 😉

p/s relevant or not, that’s a great title.

actually “accept what people off, drink their milkshakes…” is from “she’s come undone” a book by wally lamb.
