Got the news last night that James, a close friend of M’s parents, died very suddenly on Sunday. He was only 54. Everyone’s still shocked.
“What is man’s life? A bubble on the stream,
Raised by the splashing rain, which merrily
Dances along the swiftly gliding wave,
Full of apparent life, then suddenly
Breaks and dissolves, and leaves no trace behind,
To show where it hath been. . . .”

Dances along the swiftly gliding wave,
Full of apparent life, then suddenly
Breaks and dissolves, and leaves no trace behind,
To show where it hath been. . . .”
One of my first thoughts was that this is an awful time of year to die, but now I think about it, it’s a good time. His daughters and other family members were all going to be in town to celebrate Christmas. It’s good that everyone can be together to celebrate his life, mourn his death, and comfort each other.
Rest in peace, James.

I recall in one of your old posts that someone close also passed away recently.
We all will die one day. Our turn will come soon enough. It is a fact of life which I don’t yet know how to tell my kids.
Sorry to hear about your friend… glad my picture is reflective of your feelings.
Indeed, Israd. I hadn’t thought of it before, but death would be a tough concept to explain to young children!
Thanks Angela, and thanks for stopping by too.
