It’s official. I have now been initiated into the world of Sudoku, and I fear I am … addicted hooked. It’s all CherryRipe‘s fault. She’s visiting us from Sydney, and as part of her house guest duties gave me a quick rundown on the hows, whats and wherefores of the puzzle, and that’s all it took. I completed one puzzle (after rubbing it out a couple of times when I went seriously wrong), and then went to bed, dreaming of numbers in boxes.
The blogging routine was interrupted this morning while I did a couple of puzzles online. Then when we went into the city to have lunch and organise our finances* for the upcoming Chinese New Year, I bought myself a bookful of Sudoku. I think I prefer doing them on paper rather than online – holding a pencil and using an eraser makes the whole process more tactile somehow.
Have already done two easy ones, and am starting to think I may need to graduate to the ‘mild’ ones instead. The ones in the book I’ve got go from easy, to mild, to difficult, and finish at fiendish. No doubt I will have to work my way up to the fiendish ones, just because it appeals to me to attempt something that’s been labelled such.
We also saw Brokeback Mountain today. Saddest movie I’ve seen in a while. Homophobia is just plain wrong.
*More on this later.

Nice site, thanks for the link! 🙂
After reading this, I saw a section dedicated to Sudoku at a nearby bookstore. Honestly, I’ve never heard of it. Seems likes its a craze here too.
So when I was browsing through one book, a lady and her boyfriend came by. She picked up the book and said, “This is ridiculous. Its getting way out of hand…”
Hey, just when I was starting to get interested. It does look interesting.
I wouldn’t let that woman’s comment stop you, Israd 🙂
