AustralianBlogs.com.au

Found, over the weekend, via Genevieve’s, a great new site for all of us blogging in .au – AustralianBlogs.com.au. Those of you whose blogs fall into any of these three categories: “Australian subject or topic; OR by an Australian; OR have a .au domain name”, do consider adding yourself to the list!

Perth bloggers, for instance – come on, there are only thirteen of us listed at the moment! (As I write this at 5:45am there are only nineteen Sydney blogs, and twenty Melbourne ones; perhaps not everyone is tagging their blogs by location?) There are only two blogs by librarians at the moment.

Genevieve, thanks for the background info on the site itself – for a site that’s only been around a couple of weeks or so, AustralianBlogs is doing quite well already. I still bemoan the fact that Aussie Blogs closed down before I really got seriously into blogging, so I am very pleased that we now have this great resource available. I’m going to enjoy making my acquaintance with some of the blog(ger)s listed.

Oh, and by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY tfp!!

I say, CW, you have some spiffing books in your library on the right there. A very new book on Perl programming – impressive. Where (& to what level)did you study?

M 3 April 2006

CW’s ‘My Library’ encompasses both her and my books 🙂 Being an IT guy I have a collection of IT related books in the library. I don’t think CW even knows what Perl stands for 🙂

Thanks! 🙂

Yes, Genevieve, the computing titles in my library are mostly M’s books. The only IT/computing ones in the collection that I’ve bothered to look at (and even use from time to time) are the HTML ones… M on the other hand has a degree in computing from Murdoch University. I’m very lucky to have my own IT guy! 😉

Thanks CW! I am pleasantly surprised by the librarian network…

CW 5 April 2006

Jon, the librarian network (biblioblogosphere is one term for it) is large and pervasive!

By the way, do you have a blog? I’ve looked, but can’t spot anything that looks like it might fit the bill… 🙂
