Anniversary, 2

Today’s our second wedding anniversary! This time last year
I wrote about the wedding.

Having completed saying our vows to each other:

“I ask you M to be my husband, my lover, my friend. I declare my intention to give you my deepest friendship and love, not only when your moments are high, but when they are low, not only when you remember clearly who you are, but when you forget, not only when you are acting with love, but when you are not. I hope to be with you forever, sharing all that is good within us with all those whose lives we touch.”

Tea ceremony. Me offering tea to Mama.

M just gave me a card and a present – a travel guidebook to Europe! We are hoping to commemorate our tenth year together (ten years this Christmas!) with a trip to the Netherlands and a few other European cities. Hopefully we’ll be going next year.

I kind of wish I had the day off today – but I will be at work, attending a faculty research and development committee meeting, conducting a seminar on keeping up to date (using alerts and RSS) and teaching a new postgrad student how to use EndNote.

Tonight: dinner at Jackson’s! This time last year I had a cold so I didn’t enjoy our dinner as much as I could have. I’m looking forward to it.

Congratulations CW and M. May you have many more.

Jackson’s….Neal Jackson used to have the Anchor and Hope Inn in Donnybrook in the late 70’s. All my parents’ friends used to go along and rave about it, but I’m not quite sure they appreciated fully what they had there in a town of about 2500 people. Jackson was the family name of a mob in the town, so I had always presumed that the A&H was just operated by a local who was a bit of a good cook 🙂

Please check out the vegtarian options for me, as after about 30 years, it may be time for me to check out what my elders raved about.

Belated wishings for a happy wedding anniversary. LOL, I fell off the chair when I read Jiwa Rasa’s comment!

CW 11 March 2007

Thank you tfp, Jiwa Rasa, Angel and Ivan!

Saudara Jiwa Rasa, kenapa saya disangka lelaki, kot? 🙂 Actually you’re not the first person to think I was male, I seem to recall someone else many months ago apologising for making the same mistake!
