Me, I’m reading A fine balance by Rohinton Mistry and Slowly down the Ganges by Eric Newby, and enjoying both immensely. Not sure how I ended up reading two books with Indian themes at the same time – an accident.

Well at the moment I’m reading A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle which I’m really getting into (didn’t at first) and Beloved by Toni Morrison which is an interesting read as well.
P.S. I love Bibliophibian its another great word to add to my vocabulary along with Bibliomaniac and Bibliophile
I loved A fine balance- once of my favourite books of all time- and I read it after going to India in 2004.
I’m reading My mistress’s sparrow is dead: great love stories from Chekhov to Munro. I was supposed to have read it for my bookgroup meeting last Wed- but luckily all 10 of us in the group hadnt’t finished the stories at all- so intend finishing them now ( we did however have a great evening talking about love!)
…and then this morning at breakfast I started reading The Barrytown trilogy, by Paddy Clarke- who I also love

Bookishgirl74 you should review that Eckhart Tolle book when you finish. I’ve looked at it and wondered if it’s worth a read. And as for Toni Morrison Beloved has been on my To Read list for YEARS.
KatieTT I have now read A fine balance and I would love to go to India. Thought it was very sad how the tailors ended up, and that poor, poor Maneck… I think I might now have to read Midnight’s Children by Salman Rushdie.
