Twitter in sidebar

While looking through the FAQ on Twitter, for no particular reason, I came across the instructions for putting one’s Tweets on one’s blog. So I’ve just stuck my Tweets in my sidebar. No reason in particular, just because I can. Of course this doesn’t help those of you who read this blog via RSS. (If I read this blog it would be via RSS too. I only ever go to a blog to comment, and then I find I am quite surprised by how different it actually looks – I am so used to just getting the text and not worrying about minor things like layout and appearance.)

Analysing why my blogging’s dropped off over the last few months, I think the fact that my attention is now divided between things like Twitter and Google Reader (I share a fair bit of stuff, with or without commentary) does have something to do with it. Recently been looking at people who maintain lifestreams and thinking that if I did the same I would look somewhat more active than I currently do. If you just went by the activity on this blog I don’t appear to be doing much at all.

Perhaps the next thing to do is investigate setting up a lifestream. Even if I’m not sure I like the term. What to do with my neglected FriendFeed account? AllofMe looks interesting. (Now what would be cool is something that would allow me to dump selected thoughts, without having to type/record/audiovisualise.)

And for a moment I thought I was the only one with dwindling blogging. In my case, work has been a zoo for one, which has kept me from blogging. I have done little things like posting a link on Facebook now and then, or photos to Flickr, but overall blogging has been down. Just a fact of life, but one is still active. Not too sure I am ready for lifestreaming. Let us know if you go with it how it works. Best, and keep on blogging.

I very briefly put my Twitter in my sidebar, but I found that it was a bit buggy, and didn’t look fantastic.

I mean, I guess it’s just another way of raising my online profile, but I tend to tweet a lot of boring details of my life that only friends and acquaintances would find interesting / possibly entertaining.

Nice to hear from you Angel 🙂

True Andrew. But then I could argue that about a lot of what I blog/tweet/put on Flickr. I’m thinking I’d like to just collect the whole lot on one page. As to whether I have the patience or energy to investigate at the moment…
