Blogging, thankfully

I think I’ve gotten a few people all fired up to blog every day in June, after I posted this question on Twitter:

“am going to try to blog everyday for the month of June. any bloggers care to take up the challenge?”

I was inspired by this post by a fellow Twitterer.

A couple of people have already blogged (snail and Kate) so I’d better do my bit too. Haven’t done a gratitude post for a little while so what better way to start this month of posts?

I am grateful for:

  1. my PLN. Have I said this before? Well, I’ll say this again. You all encourage and energise and inspire me and I learn so much, in all aspects, from you all. THANK YOU.
  2. my parents. They’ve made me who I am, warts and all.
  3. my challenging, interesting job. I can’t blog about everything I’m working on right now, but suffice it to say that it stretches me, makes me think, makes me laugh. [this one’s for you, JK! šŸ™‚ ]
  4. technology, old and new. Drafted this on paper, with a graphite pencil. Read Wolf Hall on my Kobo reader. Plotted my work week and all those meetings and appointments on Outlook (supplemented by iPhone for mobility), while recording daily thoughts, observations, feelings and changes in weather using a fountain pen, in a paper diary. Where will it take us? I don’t know but I’m enjoying the journey.
  5. my country, adopted. The more I live in Australia the more I love this land. (The word “more” used deliberately. I want to live more.) We are now in the season of makuru.

šŸ™‚ Yes – thankful for my PLN too. Think it’s kept me sane.

I love the way technology can help me manage my day. I sync my calendar with google and then my iphone so I only run one diary and it works wonders.

I like productivity software but I love making lists most of all. I some times have a few going at a time but at the end of each week I make an effort to consolidate for planning the following week.

Hmm, I must have missed that tweet somehow. I might have to try it too – I’ve been struggling to get back into it.

Also – yay, Nyoongar seasons! I’ve wanted more info on them for ages and couldn’t find anything… *bookmarks*

Ditto, Penny.

Kim, I love love love lists too šŸ™‚ Could just sit and make them all day if I let myself. But not To Do lists though. Once is enough!

Akkadis, it was me asking a question and all these library people jumped in and said “woohoo we’ll do it!” So it’s nice to have a non-library-person sharing in the exercise too šŸ™‚
