Life’s tough for little dogs in winter. Lots of blankets are required to snuggle in. Toys also help to take one’s mind off the fact that the sun-bathing deck is wet with rain and unpleasant for paws. Preference is for soft toys that squeak when chewed just so.

Fudge gets more affectionate in the winter – the colder it is, the more she snuggles up to the core of my body. She’s not normally a lap cat, she just uses me as a comfy heater/hot water bottle.
For our dogs, Kuma grows tufts on his ears in winter and Willy’s beard gets longer 🙂
With the exception of the squeaky toys I agree with them.
