Day 6 #blogjune Meme

What a fine idea, a meme. Thank you, Bun-toting Librarian!
I’m sure I have written similar posts in previous years, but I don’t suppose it matters.

Seven things that scare me

  1. cockroaches
  2. swamps
  3. drowning
  4. running out of ink
  5. rats
  6. asthma attacks
  7. Alzheimer’s disease

Seven things I like

  1. @morfaine
  2. Paco and Peppi the chihuahuas
  3. Twitter
  4. fountain pens
  5. classical music
  6. ebooks
  7. Etsy

Seven random facts about me

  1. I can remember the moment I worked out how to read. I was idly looking at the tv guide in the newspaper when suddenly I realised what the words were. I think I was about 5? Or 6?
  2. I had a card catalogue to organise my Enid Blytons as a child. (There was no hope for me.)
  3. I have been graying since around the age of 12.
  4. I don’t wear makeup.
  5. While on public transport I often stick headphones in my ears just to discourage people from speaking to me.
  6. Most of the scars on my body are from my time working as an apprentice chef.
  7. Going to the park with my dogs is one of the highlights of my week. Dogs are so good at enjoying themselves!

Seven things I want to do before I die

  1. go to New York City
  2. see the Aurora Borealis
  3. make a snowman (I have never seen snow IRL)
  4. ride a camel in the Sahara desert
  5. stay in one of those super-decadent tropical island resorts where there is nothing but your chalet and sand and sea all around
  6. sleep in a yurt
  7. eat sushi in Tokyo

Seven things I can do well

  1. learn languages (foreign or jargon)
  2. cook (pity I’m so lazy these days)
  3. remember names
  4. write minutes
  5. stick to a routine
  6. read
  7. nothing. By this I mean, just lying there doing nothing. I am practising just staring out of the bedroom window of a morning.

Seven things I can’t do but wish that I could

  1. swim
  2. sew
  3. keep a garden alive
  4. be patient
  5. recite (and understand) Tang poetry
  6. maintain my sense of direction. I can get lost in a large building!
  7. stick to a good meditation routine

Seven phrases I’m known to use

  1. Geez
  2. Aiya
  3. Well, duh!
  4. Tsk (okay, not really a phrase)
  5. Are we there yet?
  6. Oh man!
  7. Let me tweet that

Heh heh…I was going to comment that surely it was too soon to start throwing in memes, then I happened to check last year and sure enough, they started appearing at about the same point 🙂

I love your meme!
I may end up posting my bucket list at some point. The way I view the bucket list is that if you put it out there, someone may be able to help you achieve one of the items one there. If you don’t promote it – you may never be able to do it!

“I had a card catalogue to organise my Enid Blytons as a child. (There was no hope for me.)”
