Reading: One to Ten

Meme from To Be Read.

The book I’m currently reading: Crossing to Safety, Wallace Stegner, and Common Purpose, Joel Kurtzman

The last book I finished: One Coffee With, Margaret Maron

The next book I want to read: What book don’t I want to read! Stoner by John Williams (re-read). Independent People by Halldór Laxness (started and got sidetracked); ADance with Dragons by George R.R.Martin (also sidetracked); A Time of Gifts by Patrick Leigh Fermor; The Family Fang by Kevin Wilson (recommended by @griffey); V is for Vengeance by Sue Grafton; Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood (sidetracked again)… (you get the picture)

The last book I bought: The Atlas of New Librarianship by R.David Lankes

The last book I was given: The Empty Family by Colm Tóibín

The last book I borrowed from the library: Envisioning Future Academic Library Services: Initiatives, Ideas and Challenges, edited by Sue McKnight

The first book I read this year: Doctored Evidence by Donna Leon. (The first book of the year tends to be sheer enjoyment as I am usually on holidays.)

What was the last translated book you read? Missing by Karin Alvtegen, translated by Anna Paterson.

The book at the top of my Christmas list: Shaw’s Music: The Complete Music Criticism of George Bernard Shaw, edited by Dan Laurence.

The so-far unpublished book I am most looking forward to reading: I’ll cheat – I’d like Gloria E. Anzaldúa‘s Borderlands to be republished in epub format. I have a paper copy somewhere among my shelves… Read it decades ago and I think it’s time to re-read it.
