Young

This post was mined from my great archive of drafts.

I’m sure some of you have seen this photo before, but I’m posting it anyway.

Mini Me

According to Mom’s* note on the back of the photo, this was taken on 5 November 1971.

That means I was just over a year old at the time. (You can do the calculations and work out how old I am.)

What I find most strange, looking at this photo, is the fact that I remember nothing from that time of my life.

I wonder how some children today will feel when they grow up, and their lives have been enthusiastically photographed and documented online by their avid parents. Thanks to Fi for that link to that article on children’s right to privacy. How we use technology definitely raises a lot of questions. Some technologies are so ubiquitous these days we forget that we’ve really only had them for a little while, and I think we’re still fumbling our way through with using them and the implications around some uses.

*My mother has always signed herself “Mom”, rather than “Mum”.
