This year we had a grand total of 84 bloggers participating in #blogjune. That’s right, 84!(I think that perhaps one or two bloggers didn’t put their details on the list, so the number could be slightly higher.)
Of the 84 in this list, 36 were first timers. That is, 42%.
And that, dear friends, is all the statistical analysis I am going to do.
As in previous years, I’m sure some of us were more able to manage a post a day than others. I myself missed eight days’ worth of posts! But I’m not checking up on anyone. For one thing, I’d have to go and look at 80+ blogs to figure out how many posts people wrote, and I don’t have the time to do so. For another thing, I don’t want to! Sure, we each set ourselves this target (a post a day, 30 posts in June), but there is no blog police to ensure we stick to it.
For me #blogjune is a success when:
- I blog more than I do the rest of the year
- I find more blogs to read, bloggers to learn from/with
- I learn more about my colleagues in my PLN
So, by this reckoning, this year has definitely been a good, successful one.
There was such a wide variety of topics posted this year, some on very serious/scary topics, some very personal, some on interesting professional issues; all made me think – and I feel very grateful to be a part of this.
The other thing about this year’s #blogjune which was notable for me, is the number of people from outside the Australian/New Zealand library world who joined in. I’m looking forward to continuing to read and learn more from all of you! 🙂
Thanks for playing, and see you all again next #blogjune!

Thanks Con! Just writing up my last.
Most welcome, Sean. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Thanks for organising it Con, I appreciate the challenge it offers me and like you I got a lot out of it as well, including new blogs to read. Thanks also to everyone who participated, I really appreciate your contributions.
