You are the product of your own brainstorm

M the Juggler

This is what I need to be doing all week: juggling. Not with groovy coloured balls, as my dear husband M is doing, but with all the tasks I need to get done this week. I kept resisting the urge to work on work projects over the weekend, but now I am regretting it a bit because it is going to be so frantic this week.

The problem is that I have a thing against doing work things outside of work time. In my mind, work is meant to be done in work time, and outside of work time is when I do everything else. I don’t know if this is realistic or not. Some might say that if I want to move in my career I should just do what I need to, work time or not. I suppose I am not that ambitious.

It’s not a matter of moving forward in your career… I think our generation is just better at the whole life/work balance thing.

Maybe my boss (a Baby Boomer) thinks I’m a slacker, but I really produce while I’m on the job – just not after 6 pm!

So good for you for recognizing that you need time to get your other life stuff done.

Agreed, Michelle, although in my case my productive period seems to cease after about 5pm (apart from evenings where I have to teach until 8pm but that is only occasional, thankfully!). On Fridays productivity can sometimes dissipate after 4pm.. sad but true..

Oh, and thanks for the comment! 🙂
