Bloggers, do you ever wonder, sometimes, if you’re just typing and posting all this stuff and it’s just disappearing into the blogosphere, never to be seen again?

That’s why it’s nice to get told that something you’ve posted was good and helpful – someone at work, from the academic division I serve, has just told me (as we passed each other in the corridor) that the review of The Cluetrain Manifesto I posted on the library blog was useful because he’d “always wondered what it was all about”, and after reading my review he went and borrowed the library copy. “And,” he said, “It’s a great little book, CW, gives you a lot to think about!”

So I discovered that a relatively senior person at the university takes note of the library blog – AND that he thought my post was good.

Quite made my day.

I know exactly what you mean. So far I only know of one professor who reads my blog, but it’s gratifying when she passes me on the sidewalk and comments on my latest post.

I haven’t had the guts to publicize my blog to anyone else, though. 🙂

Knows as well. I know a couple of my colleagues at work read the blog, but otherwise, who knows where the posts go, maybe that big ether in the blogospheric sky. Then again, I don’t publicize much either. The few comments I get do make my day. Best, and keep on blogging.

Iris, I haven’t publicised my blog to most people, either (and definitely not to faculty)! CW<--no guts either :) Angel I bet more people read your blog than you realise. I always enjoy reading what you have to say. I think I’m going to have to start reading more journal articles – but I don’t think I’ll be as good at sharing what I’ve learned.

That’s cool! 🙂

Isn’t it, Penny? 🙂 And to make it even better, when I got back to my office that day I found two emails wishing me a Merry Christmas and thanking me for all my help during the year.

Thanks, tb-). My next review (podcast) will be of Patrick White’s The Vivisector, by the way!
