Going to Sydney

M and I are going to Sydney this Sunday! I’m starting to get excited at the prospect now – I’ve known we were going for a while, but what with end-of-year festivities, upheavals at work, and moving house (we’ve spent most of this week moving our books and final furnishings over from one house to another), I haven’t really given the trip too much thought.

We’ll be in Sydney for a week. M will actually be working from Monday to Wednesday – he will be spending the time at the University of New South Wales – while I will be a tourist. We haven’t made any detailed plans for things to do or places to see, but I am looking forward to spending some time with jl, and meeting up with Morgan, Fiona, and Snail (Tom are you going to be in town? Anyone else who’ll be in Sydney and would like to meet up, drop me an email, flexnib at g mail etc), visiting some circus shops and of course doing some obligatory bookshop and restaurant crawls. We’ve both been to Sydney before (I think this will be my fourth visit), but not together, so this should be fun!

I now have to concentrate on finishing all the moving and putting things in their places so that the house is in order for the catsitters, my sister Juji and her boyfriend Jay. They have looked after Baubles the Cat before so hopefully the experience isn’t too traumatic for both parties.

Enjoy Sydney! Are you gonna visit any libraries during your stay here? 😉

Thanks, Sydneylibrarian 🙂 I have no idea what I’m going to do, actually. Any suggestions for good libraries?

Hope you get this before you leave! If you’re living in the city area, the Customs House library (link above) is pretty good! I was quite impressed by the size, lots of comfy sitting areas, and plenty of mags/newspapers to browse!
p/s: i think internet usage is free there too!
