The pack

M went to Brisbane this week, to spend some time with his brother and his family.

While he was away the dogs were great company, but I learnt something: M is most definitely the pack leader, not me. There were times when the two of them would decide to do something (like play fight on the bed at 11pm when I was trying to get to sleep) and completely ignore any orders from me to cease and desist. Paco would eventually pay attention – I think he took pity on me – and stop, but Peppi just wanted to keep going and going and going.

Paco and Peppi are very good friends and really enjoy playing with each other. I think Peppi has been very good for Paco, as he seems a lot calmer and less lonely. Peppi can be a bit of a handful. She demands attention at all times and does not hesitate to insert herself into any situation. (She had her stitches out last weekend, by the way. All went well.)

M came home yesterday. His parents picked him up at the airport. When they arrived at our place the two dogs were overjoyed: M home, and visitors! They ran up to M, tails wagging their whole bodies, decided they had to say hello to the visitors, but oh! M’s home and ran back to him again, then quickly to the visitors, then M again, and so on…
