Lots to be grateful for

A lot to think about.

This morning one of my colleagues shared the news that her little granddaughter was born last night. Hugs and congratulations.

A few minutes later got the news that another colleague’s elderly father died, also on the weekend. People come together, help each other.

My Mum-in-law takes the days one at a time. I know she is in a lot of pain much of the time, but she has never complained. Did I mention my Dad’s also got cancer? He’s having chemo at the moment, with all its ups and downs. Learning lots, about cancer, about family, and about the people in my family.

Had a nice lunch with Kathryn on Sunday.

Enjoying working with Sue on a paper.

Last week an Old Friend I lost touch with over the years took a chance and found me again. She was actually brave enough to come to MPOW and ask for me. I could have been horrible to her, or just blah, or I could have even been the wrong person! (Married name changes and all.) I am so glad she was so brave, and took the trouble.

So.

I have a lot to be grateful for.

Dear CW, I meant to say this to you before, but I’m so sorry about your mother-in-law’s diagnosis. And now you have the double whammy of your dad as well. Hoping that your dad’s treatment is as effective as possible, and that your family are finding the strength they need to get through this awful time, and store up good memories despite it all.

Goodness, a lot to carry there. Best wishes to your dad with his treatment.
It is lovely when an old friend turns up like that, isn’t it!
