I know the month’s not over yet, but I’ve been thinking about this whole #blogjune thing, and why I’ve been doing it for these past few years. This is the fourth year!
It’s not an easy challenge to set oneself – blogging every single day for a whole month – but I do like to challenge myself, so I do it. Usually around week three I find myself flagging. I try and tell myself to just do it. The memes help. I can always fall back on the dog posts. This year, pen posts. (I do so love taking photos of my pens.) And then, I break through the wall and it’s fine again and June is over for another year.
I won’t go over the whole I-want-to-write thing again, apart from saying that having that desire does help when you’re doing something that involves a lot of writing.
So, there’s the whole challenge factor, and the whole writing thing.
The other thing, and possibly even the most important thing, is the community. I love getting to know people better through their blogs. Old friends and new. I love the fact that we’re all scattered across this vast country, or have seas between us, and we can still connect and learn from each other. I read this, this morning:
The importance of social connectedness won’t change anytime soon. Our health, wellness and evolution depends on being together.
Even if we’re kicking and screaming at times.
The change underway, however, is having to choose our community instead of inheriting one. [this resonates for me, as an immigrant.]
Community becomes a decision birthed from knowing who we are and what we truly desire.
Our peeps are out there. We are truly never alone.
I love the fact that you’re all out there!
Challenge, writing, and community. Three great reasons.
Thanks for joining me this June 🙂

AMEN to that 🙂
Yes! I am loving those 3 aspects too, well said. It’s my first year participating, so thank you Con for a great idea 🙂
