G is for Gratitude

I’ve had such a hard time trying to work out what to write for G. None of the G words I could think of I wanted to write about, and I couldn’t really come up with G concepts, either.

The Letter G

Thus, I’m resorting to an old standby – a Gratitude post. I haven’t written one of these for a while, and in any case I think “G is for Gratitude” is a good sentiment.

So, given that the letter G is the seventh in the alphabet, what seven things am I grateful for at the moment?

  1. Being awake at 5am and listening to the morning silence.
  2. Also, birdsong at dawn. This morning I can hear a lot of chirping. The last few days there have been kookaburras, magpies, and crows.
  3. Having been taught, as a child, how to make a cake by my mum. It’s a skill I take for granted. I’ve made three cakes in the last week!
  4. Comfortable shoes. I’m thinking of the Birkenstock, Blahnik, Fluevog analogy Zaana Howard made at Info Online. Nothing wrong with Birkenstocks, imho!
  5. J.S. Bach.
  6. Being able to “attend” an event from afar, via Twitter. This week, #theta2013.
  7. The A to Z Challenge, which is helping me write and blog more.

I had a hard time with this one as well. Gratitude is a great one to pull out once in a while, I have seen it around the blogs. Birdsong is wonderful, I heard it last night and it is a sign of spring coming. Best of luck with the rest of the challenge.
