My current daily routine now includes drawing. I’m very happy about this. I enjoy this part of the day very much, even though I don’t always know what I’m going to draw when I start. I usually draw first thing every day, before I leave for work.
If I feel uninspired or stuck for ideas on what to draw I just make myself put pencil to paper – amazingly I usually end up with something, even if I don’t always like my efforts. Some days if I’m stuck I might look for a picture of a scene or people online and try and draw that.
I drew the picture below over two days – yesterday I was stuck and thought I’d just draw people. I looked at pictures of men in hoodies and men carrying bags, online. This morning I thought I’d look at pictures of women – young women, old women.
The only problem I have now is that I find myself wanting more time for drawing.

I love that you have this creative time scheduled as a priority. Reminds me that I need to start carving out regular time for myself also.
Yep, I’ve found that if I don’t schedule it in it doesn’t happen… Early morning seems to be the best time for me to do personal projects like this. I’m not a night owl, and most evenings I’m usually too tired to want to do much of anything beyond reading a novel or watching some tv.
