Another celebration – the Carnival is coming!

I’d forgotten that I volunteered to host a Carnival of the Infosciences! (Thanks Iris for reminding me!) It had nothing to do with this blog’s first anniversary, but it’ll be nice to do something like this to commemorate the event. (The other event is the fact that I’m posting twice in one day, which is a definite rarity for me!)

Those of you who might have come here from the most recent carnival, welcome and please do consider writing something for me to point to. Email me at flexnib at gmail dot com.

To my non-library-people readers (I know there are many of you out there! Hi!), this is a weekly event that travels around from blog to blog, a sort of virtual carnival showcasing the weird and wonderful world of library folks in the blogosphere. I don’t think this has been done before, but if any of you non-library bloggers would like to participate, why not write something, on your blog, about your most recent experience of using the library, any library? (Or if you don’t use the library, why not?) Was it a good (or not-so-good) experience? Is there anything you wish libraries would do more of? Is there anything that you really like about libraries? Write something on your blog, then let me know and I may include your post as part of the Carnival!

P.S. Forgot to say earlier – if you want to be a part of the next carnival get your post ready by Sunday 11 May. Cheers πŸ™‚

You know, I couldn’t quite figure out the Carnival thingy until I read your post… oh, that’s how it works. Can’t say I know how one gets to be a “host” but at least now I see the “travelling carnival” analogy. πŸ™‚

I’m glad to have illuminated you, Ivan πŸ™‚ As to how you be a host, you volunteer, lor… πŸ˜€

You can email Greg Schwartz (the creator of the Carnival), and nominate a date! It’d be really nice to see the Carnival in the tropics πŸ˜‰
