Observations

One: It’s almost summer. Apart from the fact that we’re expecting a top temperature of 30°C (86°F) today, I can hear the monotonous cooing of doves. They don’t seem to coo in the colder months. Some mornings I also hear flocks of galahs, which are so noisy I don’t know how anyone sleeps through their racket.

Two: You’re probably tired of this sort of thing, but I was just reflecting on how enriched my life has been by the Web. I mean, without the Web, I wouldn’t be enjoying such beautiful scenes. Or hearing from people I have never met but have been wondering/worrying about. And learning so much! Two-A: RSS is The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread. If you’re a librarian and not using it to Keep Up to Date, why on earth not?? (I’d recommend RSS as a learning tool for everyone, of course, not just librarians.)

Three: Walking around sans iPod makes walking around an interesting experience. I spent time in the city yesterday without any musical accompaniment, and it was good. Now I feel like I usually have my ears blocked by my iPod. Might try my commute without it today. (NB: This will probably last until some nutter starts ranting on the train and/or tries to talk to me.)
